Make the Music Last Forever

ETSO Foundation

The music can last forever!

The East Texas Symphony Orchestra Foundation, a separately incorporated 501(c)(3) entity, was founded to provide a long term, sustaining endowment for the operation of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra.  Your contribution of any amount to this Foundation helps secure the future for great live performances of orchestral music in East Texas.

The East Texas Symphony Orchestra Foundation happily welcomes your direct tax-deductible donations as well as your planned giving contributions. Consider some of these opportunities . . .

Memorial Giving: Make a contribution to the ETSOF in memory of a loved one. Your gift will be acknowledged to the family and in East Texas Symphony Orchestra publications.

Special Bequests: Consider supporting the East Texas Symphony Orchestra by specifying a gift to the ETSO Foundation in your will.

Creative Gift Giving: Consider using one or more of these charitable giving techniques as part of your financial planning:

  • A Gift of Appreciated Stocks
  • A Gift of Life Insurance
  • A Gift of Your Home, Farm or Other Real Estate while retaining a Life Interest
  • A Charitable Remainder Unitrust or Annuity Trust
  • A Charitable Lead Trust or Lead Annuity Trust

Charitable Giving from your IRA:

For those age 70 1/2+, the Pension Act of 2006 makes it easy to provide a special gift to the East Texas Symphony Orchestra and get a tax benefit.  According to the legislation, an individual (age 70 1/2 or more) may donate up to $100,000 per year in 2007, directly from your IRA account to a non-profit organization such as the East Texas Symphony Orchestra Foundation tax-free, without penalty, through December 31, 2007. This donation counts as part of any required distributions from the IRA.  The donation must be made directly from the IRA to the ETSO Foundation to receive the tax benefit.  Those interested in making this type of gift to the East Texas Symphony should consult with their retirement agent or money manager.
